Mouse Monoclonal Antibody GFAP antibody (GFAP/15096) was utilized as the capture antibody, coated onto the microtiter plate at 1 µg/mL. A biotinylated Anti-GFAP clone (rASTRO/789) was used as the detection antibody at a 1:2000 dilution. The graph displays background-subtracted absorbance values measured at 450 nm across a serial dilution of the target antigen.

Z-score: Signal strength (in SD above the mean) of antibody binding to each protein. S-score: Difference in Z-scores between the top target and the next best hit, indicating relative specificity. This MAb recognizes a protein of ~50kDa which is identified as Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein (GFAP). It shows no cross-reaction with other intermediate filament proteins. GFAP is specifically found in astroglia. GFAP is a very popular marker for localizing benign astrocyte and neoplastic cells of glial origin in the central nervous system.Antibody to GFAP is useful in differentiating primary gliomas from metastatic lesions in the brain and for documenting astrocytic differentiation in tumors outside the CNS.
